The Top 10 “Amateur” Mistakes
Most PGA Tour Players Make
Without Even Realizing…

And How To Avoid Making The Same Amateurish
Mistakes That Are Keep You From Shooting Low Scores!

This text will be replaced

Enter your name and primary email below,
and PGA Master Professional Don Trahan
will show you these 10 golf swing “blunders”,
and how to start hitting the ball
longer, straighter and more consistently
on your very NEXT round…

Dear Fellow Golfer,

If you want to IMMEDIATELY have a more consistent, powerful and pain-free golf swing… and do it without taking a single lesson or spending one red cent… then the 10 free videos below will show you how.

Here’s the scoop:

My name is Don Trahan… although lot of people call me the “Swing Surgeon”. I’m a PGA Master Professional and personal coach to 2-time PGA Tour trophy winner DJ Trahan.

I recently decided to start to reveal the biggest, “score killing” mistakes I’ve seen in my over 25 years of playing golf and teaching PGA Tour Players and Professionals. So I put together 10 videos to help you avoid the same mistakes I’ve seen amateurs and professionals make over and over again…

Here is just a small “taste” of what’s in these free videos:

  • The one thing you must never do (especially on the first hole) after a bad golf shot. (If you’ve ever had a frustrating day on the course this is probably why!)
  • The “Big-Turn-Conspiracy”… A dirty little secret about ‘big turn’ swings your local PGA Pro does NOT want you to know. (Most golf teachers would be out of business if everyone knew the truth you’re about to learn.)
  • Why the stance most PGA Pros teach is just flat out WRONG. (Hint: A wider stance will NOT give you more power. But this one tweak most certainly will.)
  • The #1 WORST mistake you can make with your wrist when swinging a golf club. (Even if you do everything else “right”, your game will fall apart if you make this common mistake.)
  • What to do with your eyes every single time you hit a golf ball. (Here’s a little known fact: Your eyes automatically show you an “optical illusion” on a golf course. And this is one of the main reasons most golfers have such terrible accuracy. Simply do this with your eyes next time you tee off, and watch your shots land exactly where you want them to.)
  • Exactly how tight to hold your golf club for maximum distance. (Forget bogus advice about treating the club like an “open tube of toothpaste”. That’ll destroy your game. Hold it like this, instead.)
  • A terrible technique (taught in all the golf magazines and videos) that almost guaranteed to injure your back. (And is one of the reasons why a shocking number of PGA Tour golfers spend so much time in surgery.)
  • How to add up to 10 yards to your drives in your very NEXT round (even this afternoon!)… just by changing your grip.
  • A simple way to “position” your arms to be virtually “Slice-Proof”. (If you slice a lot, this secret alone will change your life.)
  • A.F.A.P.: How memorizing this acronym will almost force your shots to sail farther and straighter down the fairway. (I have to admit, this secret is a bit weird. But it works like crazy.)
  • And much, much more.

I’m 81 years old. I’m happy with my stance, grip, takeaway, downswing into the ball & ball contact but I seem to have difficulty with my follow-through with my arms passing my body and folding too early to obtain a high finish. My lower body opens up to the target but my upper body seems hang back.Any suggestions or swing thoughts that might help?.

Played to day and shot 1 over par 73 for a 12 handicap my mates were going crazy won £20 pound so already nearly got my money back for dvds lol. however my driving and long irons were quite poor low and cutting if you can help me with that i beleive a will be a low single handicapper with hard work any advise please.

any one on the website thinking about buying the dvds do it. It is the best money i have ever spent

Also don i showed one of your clips (the take away) to my golf pro and he was livid saying you can’t swing like that I pointed out i had just shot my best ever score in bad weather conditions but he still says i cant swing like that but guess what i’m not going to listen to him as long as my driving AND LONG IRONS gets good please please help me with that.

I am 57 years old, and I have gone to the practice range and played in my company annual golf outing. I want to see if I can learn the basics of ball striking before I spend lots of money on equipment and lessons. My dad was a very good golfer, and he wanted to teach me, but I wanted to play football.

  11. Marie Simons says:

There is a certain finesse when I watch Pros swing. The section of the swing that is at the ball….It is an extra punch at contact. I seem to swing back and through all at the same speed.
I want more distance. Practically all my iron shots are the same distance.

  12. bob says:

  17. G Paul says:

I ordered the entire DVD series on Don’s teaching methods. After watching the videos provided by E-mail while waiting for the DVD’s to arrive, went out the next day to the driving range and had the best and most consistant day stricking a golf ball I have ever had. I am 70 and have played golf for over 40 years. I can’t wait to use the simple set up and swing techniques on the course after I have had more time to practice all Don and his son teach.

  18. luke jorgensen says:

  19. gabriella ches says:

    thanks for the tips

  20. Bubba King says:

I have always used the baseball grip and played ok but never like I know I can. I have tried the enter lock and the over lap grip but I was never confortable with eather. I play with a scrach golfer and he thinks that if I would get my grip fixed that I could play much better. I am about a 13 handicap on our course. I am going to start the enter lock grip this week and going to stay with a it until I get it right.

  21. Rick says:

Looking forward to seeing your system. I need to improve this year!

  22. Jeff Lemanowicz says:

don . . . was wondering what you thought about “single length” clubs . . . you know, all the irons are one single length. i’m a relatively new golfer (last 2 years) . . and the concept seems to make a lot of sense and would seem to dovetail with the “keep it simple” concept of the peak performance swing . . .

    ?
    jeff

  23. jOE D. kENDRICKj says:

had both knees replaced. hurt nmy swing.

  24. Dave Raber says:

Been playing 40 yrs and can no longer hit irons consistantly, lost distance except with driver (240) need more swing speed with irons, short game good.

    Dave

  25. Ken says:

have bad back looking for easy swing that will still give me distance

  26. Bob says:

Don, last year I injured my left hand (not wrist) while playing golf. It became so painful that I could not hit a ball without feeling pain and frustration. I don’t want to give up the game so there must be a therapy or solution to either supporting the hand without negatively impacting my game.

  27. Daniel Larson says:

I am in Australia, ex South Dakota (in 1972). Used to play off 4, but did not play for nearly 25 years. When I picked up the clubs again, I could not hit a thing. Searched the web and found your site . . .and lo and behold, things started coming together, except for:
    1. My three iron . . .I will “duck hook” 99 out of 100 balls (though I manage to hit a 5 iron straight 90% of the time)
    2. I have always used a “wood” wood . . .and finally got into the groove somewhat. I could usually manage to hit about 75% of the fairways but lacked the distance of my playing partners. One of them gave me their “old” Powerbuilt” metal wood . . .and all I seem to do is either slice it, or in about 20% of the time, hit it straight up in the air. I love the distance but just can’t seem to hit it straight . . .so I persist.
I have built my own “driving range” on our property and practice as much as I can. I have gotten down to “about a handicap of 12″ because I can play the 7,8,9,and PW very well with your method.

    Can you HELP??

    Kindest regards,
    Daniel

  28. Jessica Kip says:

While we were playing golf on the computer in sciense, i was looking at your photo’s and i found that i have a real big thing for golfers and that one tiger wood deffently put a triger right in my pants, i’m hoe number 15.

  29. Dave says:

I have been golfing for 20 years and I still golf in the 80’s. Although I have never had golf lessons, I have managed to aquire a decent swing. My practice swings are usually a nice, feel good swing, then when I address the ball and hit it, I just about come out of my shoes. It sounds as simple as just don’t swing as hard, but that seems to be an impossible thing to aquire. Is there a method to practice that will settle me down and not try to kill it everytime?

  30. MEL says:

I AM A 70 YRS. OLD 10 HANDICAP GOLFER AND I AM TAKING SOME LESSON THESE DAYS FROM GOLF-TEC.

I’ ‘VE HAD AND STILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH LONG IRONS ( 6 THROUGH 3 ).

    PLEASE ADVISE, THANK YOU,

    MEL

  31. George Pat says:

Your session on grip pressure and position was a help for straight shots. I am still working on not jerking at the ball. An old track coaching que for the discus is – slow in the back and quicken to the front with a snap release. It helps to repeat the sequence mentally. Thanks for all your tips.

  32. Carol says:

I need to hit it straight and LONG. I need all the help I can get. Thanks for your tips.

  33. Robert says:

hi last week i recieved your video on the driver and how to hit the ball further and longer than before well after looking at it and not understanding the mitt thing and swinging up the tree i found it a waste of money what you should have said was by the set of vidoes on your golf swing first and then progress onto the driverplease help me understand as i did send you an email the other day and still have not had a reply i would be greatfull if you would reply to this one as i payed o good money for your video, kind regards Robert.

  34. John says:

I love Golf, it seems others I play with master the basics much better than me,
My issue, I think is more mental than physical. I tend to rush through my shots and, at times I get lucky with nice long drives (235 max) Other times, Im slicing hard right or “skulling” shots with my irons. I generally use hybrid clubs because I am afraid to use my longer iron clubs, and the hybrids are more forgiving of my swing fopaws. I hope your video instruction can help me feel more confident on the Tee.

    Thanks,
    John

You might want to take a little closer look. The 10 videos are all free (completely free, no strings attached). We probably showed you an “additional” offer, where you can get a bunch of our products for a very low price, but that is completely separate from the 10 free videos (which the first video is probably already in your email box).

I get some pretty good distance with my swing, and i noticed that i can hit the ball straight if i reach back all the way on my up swing. Inconsistency is the main problem. Some days the swing is sweet and I play reasonably for an 80 yr old but other days, for no obvious reason, I simply cannot get my swing going at all.

  71. Dave Rowland says:

66 years of age and frustrated with my golf swing, particularly with a driver. I have tried so many different methods/advice given to me by pros and playing partners that I have given up using a wood/metal and am now driving with an iron and am way behind on the faiway.

  72. Scott says:

    Hi Don,

I am a PGA member and have been reading about PPGS for a few months now. I must say I am a big fan and love how simple it is. My two questions for you are 1) when starting the down swing what is a good drill to get someone to stop their hips and knees going out towards the ball just before impact. I have heard so many things on how to start the down swing with your lower body and getting your right knee to go towards your left and clear your hips. This is a lot to think about for the average person while playing a round of golf. My second question is 2) Can you explain correct pitching technique. We seem to here a lot about the long game these days and not enough about 100 yds and in. Those little flops around the green and those pitch shots from 25-65 yds can be a real challenge for the average golfer. Thanks for all your help and keep up the great work.

    Scott

I would love to promote your website and instruction on my website. Do you do affiliate marketing?

  87. Greg Morrill says:

    Don,

I purchased your training swing lessons. My shoulder and back pain are gone. While I am not hitting as far, I am far more often between the trees and the big duck hooks and banana slices are gone. Club distances are vastly more consistant when I hit the ball well. My problems seem to be inconstitancy for hitting fat one swing to skulling the ball the next, to hitting correctly. I will shot a par or bogie (good enough for me) on one hole then shoot three snowmen in a row due to chunked shots.

Is there a magic fix for this?

    Greg

  88. Sam Calandro says:

How do you hit hybrids? Where do you put the ball in your stance and how do you swing the club?

Dear Mr Trahan, I cannot score below 80. I hit 250 yards or more off the tee, but always come to grief losing balls in heavy rough, or hitting hazards. How can I be more accurate with my drives.
