Hitting the ball straight is great, but sometimes you want to have the ball go from right to left or left to right. I've heard some instructors advise using a stronger grip on the club.Others say you should drop one foot or the other back so as to change to swing plane. What is the correct way to intentionally bend you shots when that becomes necessary on the golf course?

  • BPPerk
type "working the ball" into the search box on the upper right hand portion of the page and it will bring up the two part blog on the subject from earlier this year.

1.Straight ball: Foot line and target line parallel(like railroad tracks) clubface square to target line.
2.Draw: Foot line slightly closed to target line. Clubface square to target line.
3.Fade: Foot line slightly open to target line. Clubface square to target line.

Swing along foot line for all three shots.

When I signed up for your golf analysis, etc., I expected to receive DVD's so that I am able to watch any place -- anytime -- not tied to my computer/internet!
Can that be done? If not, I would be willing to cancel the whole thing -- take a load off your sales!
  • BPPerk
Apparently you missed the words "Download Instructions will be sent to this email" ..... ""DVD Series - Digital Version" ... "Downloadable format -- start watching them in the next 3 minutes!" .... during the ordering process. Below are the instructions for ordering a physical copy. I don't know how easy it is since I downloaded the vids to my computer in less than ten minutes for the entire series to include the driver, short game and putter.

By the way ... it's too easy to burn the downloaded videos to a disc.

    Top "Frequently Asked Questions":

    Question: I haven't received the product(s) I ordered.

Answer: If you ordered the PPGS Foundations Video Series, or any combination of lesson videos, it's important to understand that these are delivered in a "digital format" in our secure members only area, click here to login and access this valuble content immediately. If you have never logged in before, simply click on the "First Time User?" link at the bottom of the login page and follow the instructions.

The main advantages to this delivery method are; (a) you have access to the content immediately after ordering, (b) you have several different formats that you can view the videos in (including downloadable formats you can burn to DVD and/or put right on your iPhone, or other smart phone, to take them to the practice range and (c) you will get new versions of any products that we revise and/or improve for free without having to wait for updates to be delivered to you through the postal mail.

IMPORTANT: if you want actual hard copy DVDs sent to your home, you can call our customer support team at 800-428-1897(24 hours a day, 7 days a week) and they can get those shipped right out to you for the price of shipping and handling.

I, too have tried to opt out of emails/correspondence with no success. The 2 links at the bottom of the email do not work. I have advised them that this is a Federal Requirement subject to fine.

    Hello,
I'm getting the emails of the free 10 golf swing videos - but I can't watch them as the picture is very broken up.
(I was going to use the English UK work "jerky", but maybe that means something else in the USofA!).
Also the sound is disjointed and incomplete.
Do I need a special software to watch them?
  • BPPerk
Sounds like a connection issue. You could let them play through once, then replay and see if that helps. Another option is to use Firefox as your browser with the DownloadHelper add-in and save the videos to your computer and watch at your leisure.
  • Paulnoekes
    Hello again,
I forgot to mention that I had also, as you suggested, run the whole video through - with the problems - and then ran it again.
    Problem disappeared!
    Why?
Is it like "Why 'Control/Alt/Delete?'" Is it that the answer is: "It just is!"?
  • Paulnoekes
Thank you BPPerk -what a genius!
Admittedly, at 72 years old and a novice at both golf AND computing, some might excuse me...
I tried your suggestion of changing the browser and went on line using Google Chrome.
Eureka! I can view the videos and hear the sound.
Now I hope my golf improves also.
    Thanks again
  • BPPerk
If your connection is a bit slow you'll experience what is called buffering ... the video and audio don't reach your computer fast enough for smooth play and you'll see the pauses, stuttering, etc. When you play it back the second time, it has all made it to your computer so it plays from the cache rather than streamed.

With firefox as your browser and the download helper add-in you can actually save the videos to your computer and watch them any time you want even if not connected to the internet.

Hi folks just starting out on the swing and it is getting there big thanks. Just a quick question I have been up to the range several times now and I see people getting their clubs out hitting a few balls putting their swing right setiing up etc , but i have noticed that a lot of people turn up to the range with normal footwear trainers outdoor shoes etc hitting a bucket of balls making adjustments to their swing . What difference will it make to the swing by not having everything consistent when they have not got their golf shoes on at the range then go onto the course with proper shoes.

    Question 1
Other than your video do you recommend any training aids that can help with your 3/4 swing limited turn.

I just started playing golf. I am making better contact with the ball my drives off the tee range from 225 to 250; I swing harder when I have a wider fairway thus the extra distance.

    Question 2
I am having a problem with my aim on the irons. Everything is right of what I am aiming at. I have even placed two clubs on the ground to help me line up with the target. Today I played with two friends who disagree with why I am having this problem.

One says it is because I am not finishing the turn threw the shot. The other says the toe of my club is making contact with the ground forcing the face to open ever so slightly.

My computer has not let me enter to purchase for some reason. What is the next thing for me to do. Hank hesshm@verizon.net Thanks

I love the videos, but there is no customer support and no response to emails.

I have to believe they just don't know they have a major problem with their email system. However, I posted in the forum about not receiving a reply and now I can't get to the forum. Maybe they know and just don't care.

When is the next Episode of The Don Show going to be released? I just watched Episode 1 again and know there is a lot of additional information you can pass on to someone like me that learns better from pictures (movies) than words.

I am following your instructions and scoring in mid to high eighties. My iron shots seem to be coming off pretty well for me 8 iron-120, 7 iron 135, but the shots feel stingee, and the ball mark is always to the toe of the club. What movement do I make to bring the ball to the sweet spot?
  • Redahl4
I have ordered the series, set up my user account and it will not allow me to login.

    Donnie,
Could you give myself some basic & simple tips on hitting the ball straight with minimum deviation.Thats for the both the Driver & Irons. Your advise will be widely appreciated, chow Don.

I have been doing the PPGS for 2-3 months now and saw immediate improvement. Hitting the ball straighter and more squarely on a more consistent basis were the immediate improvements. However, I have had some serious setbacks with the driver and longer clubs. My drives are almost all pull hooks. It is very confusing to me, because my short to mid irons are very solid. It's gotten to the point where I'm considering hitting hybrid clubs off the tee. My initial reaction is that I am overturning because that seems to be your response to most problems. Using the butt on the wall or glancing down to see if I can see my toe line are the tests I've been using to see if I am turning too much. They seem to be fine, but maybe I'm turning more when I am actually on the course. After reading Devere's misconceptions about the PPGS, I read where when the left arm is parallel to the ground, it is not the end of the swing. There should be more lifting of the arms from here. I realized that I was stopping the swing there initially, and after reading his post, I have been trying to keep raising the arms up the tree from that position. Do you think that now I am overturning after initially not having my arms high enough? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don hope your recovering great. For the last 4 weeks I've been hitting the ball to the left, like I'm pulling the club over the left shoulder. It happens no matter what club I have, from driver to sand wedge. The only thing I find is that I been taking the club on my backswing so far back I can see the club head out of left eye. How in the world do I shorten the swing so I have a thumbs up. I can't seem to correct this. Do You have a fix for this? It seems like if I slow the backswing I get jerky. I've been using PPGS with great success until this has happened, now I can't find the right fix. Please help.

Hi ya Don, Question is how far away from my body should my hands gripping the club be. I noticed when I brought them closer to my body my slice was gone however I started pulling the ball to the left. Perhaps the club should be closer with the right hand gipping the club more in my fingers, will this stop me pulling the ball to the left now. Better than a slice I'm thinking..... regards Russell Auckland New Zealand

Hi Don, i like your slant on the game , and look forward to seeing each new issue. But, do yourself a favor and have someone PROOF READ your stuff before going public with it. Catch the misspelled words and clean up the punctuation. It will help the presentation ever so much. After all, you are a PRO. Hope you're on the mend; I did the same thing back in 2005, and survived. Cheers, Chuck.

dear surge, i have put on a few pounds over the years, but still love the game. i think my biggest swing problem is,,, not turning my hips through to the target and letting my swing finish high and at the target. i was wondering if there are any swing excersises i can do to get that feeling back so i can be alot more accurate with my shots?? thanks
  • Robert Liddle
Hi don got a really bad pain in left knee just wondering does your swing programe help with pain in knees.
  • Hugh Edwards
Is the swing that you teach the "Natural Golf Swing." As a soon to be retired person I have really thought about using this swing as I am not as flexible as I was years ago. I really do not care what it is called if it allows me to create a decent repeatable golf swing. Do your videos cover the short game? This is an area that I really need help with and in this stage of life may help me to lower my scores.
  • robert sussman
I am getting good distance with your method but started pulling to the left - any suggestions

  • David Adriance
    1. Manual goes thru the entire swing at the end of the myths but video does not. Did I fail to download something.
    2. Are their any Instructors in the Dallas are that you can go to for help in transitioning to the PPGS? To me this is essential.
  • albert liberi
i need adrill or drills to learn the bump on the down swing, to put the club in the slot. Thanks Coach AL
  • Don talks about focusing on getting to the other side (the follow through) and that makes the 'bump' happen automatically.
